No self-respecting three-day vacation with vans full of marketers is complete without a hype video. So, I shot and edited this video from an annual trip we made in grad school as a marketing group in 2015.
I find that making documentary-style videos like this is difficult because I can’t set up any shots ahead of time. But I also love that challenge–capturing the feeling of spontaneity inherent in the trip.
Another tricky spot about video production is getting rights to music. Well, we tried to buy these rights but had issues. So I finally just looked up the musicians and contacted them directly. I explained the situation and they said, “Sure, you can use that song!”. So, all set. Ever wonder what a producer does? That. Contacts the right people and gets it done.
